Company History

Our story began long before Halcro Heating and Cooling officially got its name. In the late 1980s, founder Chris Halcro was already working in HVAC across the Great Falls area, honing his craft and earning a reputation for skill and dependability. He launched his own business, Halcro Maintenance Services. In 2003, Chris and his wife Lucy incorporated the company as Halcro Heating and Cooling.

For two decades, Chris and Lucy ran the business with a commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and strong customer relationships. Their work built the foundation of the company on integrity that can be seen in our service and in the way we treat people.

In 2023, Josh and Stephanie Halcro took over the business and proudly carry that legacy forward. Today, Halcro Heating and Cooling serves residential customers throughout the Great Falls region with the same integrity it was built on. We may be growing, but we remain a family-oriented business dedicated to quality, care and integrity.

Josh Halcro grew up in the business, learning the ropes of HVAC from a young age as the son of Halcro Heating and Cooling’s founders. Though he spent time in the aviation industry, earning an associate’s degree in Aircraft Maintenance and working in roles ranging from Avionics Technician to Quality Control Inspector, he always found his way back to HVAC. With hands-on experience in nearly every type of residential system, Josh is especially skilled in troubleshooting, installations, electrical, and sheet metal. He leads with integrity and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. As the company grows, Josh remains focused on building a strong team and making sure every customer feels the difference in both service and care.

Stephanie Halcro brings her background in aviation and skills with mechanical systems to Halcro Heating and Cooling. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management and an associate’s in Aviation Maintenance, Stephanie spent over a decade at a certified aircraft repair station, starting as a technician and advancing to Manager of Quality Assurance and Training. That experience sharpened skills in compliance, leadership, and safety, all of which now support the operations at HHC. With a strong eye for detail and process improvement, she is excited to help grow the business, support our team, and create better service experiences for customers. Joining full-time in 2024 marked the start of a new chapter focused on continuous learning and putting people first.
